The animals we live with bring us so much joy, it’s the least I can do to help people understand how to mutually benefit from learning this traditional healing art.
It was a 12 year old rescued boxer dog who brought me to discover Reiki. It helped him and it continues to help me and my subsequent dogs.
Reiki helps us to help our animals because it leads us to self discovery and an awareness of our deep connection. They know this already by the way! The animals know this way better than we do so let’s allow them to be our guides through our Reiki exploration.

1. Access to the online content opens TBC for 2025. You are able to access the information and guidance to discover Reiki and begin practicing the Reiki system and meditations online

We engage over Zoom the following week TBC for 2025 and over the next 8 weeks we expand our understanding, and refine the methods taught, benefitting from each and every experience shared by group members. The sessions last 60 minutes and you are expected to have completed that week’s module and homework ready to share experiences and discuss with the group.
(3. The Practical Experience Day is optional but highly recommended. We get together in real life and gain practice and experience in the presence of the animals. The sanctuary is located near Haywards Heath, Mid Sussex. Dates to choose from are: 2025 dates TBC.)

Reiki is a very simple technique to learn and is not dependent on one having any prior experience with healing, meditation or any other kind of training. It has been successfully learned by over a million people from all walks of life, both young an old.
I think this is the most common question I get before taking this course! I, too, didn’t feel very effective in terms of mindfulness and meditation before I studied Reiki. This course includes several short, guided meditations and visualisations that you can download and practice in your own time. One of the key aspects of this course, however, is that we invite our animals to join us and by doing so we are supported by them. You will quickly experience the effect calming your nervous system down has on them, and feel a partnership with your animals which is very motivating to practice!

No, absolutely everyone who cares for any animal is welcome, the more diverse the better! Your own homework and practice can be completed with any species of animal. Due to my specialism in canine behaviour, there is a bonus module on dogs I want everyone to do if they have their own dogs or are interested in volunteering Reiki with dogs. And if you join me in person we will be experiencing Animal Reiki with the horses and ponies at my local sanctuary in Mid Sussex.
Any level 1 Reiki course qualifies you to practice Reiki for yourself and for friends, family and voluntary work. You will receive certification in Reiki & Animal Reiki from Calm Kind Happy after the online section of the course. If you decide to join me in-person too we will be practicing the Let Animals Lead® method of Animal Reiki in the presence of animals and you will come away with a certificate and a beautiful additional manual for this method too.
